I live in Miami. I like California better. Best thing is to rent a car and drive on the west coast, go to San Francisco and drive to Los Angeles and San Diego. Or you can do it the opposite way! Use Airbnb.com to rent nicer and cheaper places than hotels. There is so much you can do in those 3 cities.
In Florida you have Orlando, Miami and Keywest. Its not worth it. Orlando there is a lot you can do. Miami is a party town a lot of drinking and not much to do. Keywest has beautiful islands.
My recommendation is go to California. In san Francisco you can take pictures in silicon valley Google, Facebook, twitter, etc are all there
