Welcome in Egypt . Your trip tour is right. Don't change it unless you have enough time. As luxor has the main monuments ( i can send you where to go as i was tour guide). And Hurghada is the best diving place in Egypt. While spending 2 days max in cairo for pyramids, old cairo... etc.
but which airport r u going to come through? If it's Cairo airport why you don't book ur flight ticket multi-cities and make a little change about which city r u visiting first for saving money and time and not being exhausted, ex. Arrival in cairo airport and departure hurghada airport ... anyway, it's my opinion. Have a nice safe trip.

From Hurghada to Cairo take "BUS"
and then from Cairo to Luxor take "Sleeping Train", because it tooks long time

Use train or Bus don't use normal taxi buy a sim card and use internet package it's too cheap and download uber or carem and use them , normal taxi not reliable And have fun in egypt !!
