U can go to Ras Shiraz. It's very famous among campers in Nuweibei.
Also try Siwa. I don't know about camping there but it's a great touristy natural place. Also, on ur trip to Nuweibei just around 100 km away, there's Dahab. It's simply awesome. Welcome to Egypt.

Dahab, Newiba , Siwa .. it doesn't require security permission but in somce places you will handover your passport to the host for a night or two and he will arrange with security. better to join an Egyptian group
