i'm now studying medicine in the US. before applying to medical school, I had to do hundreds of hours between volunteering at hospitals, shadowing doctors, tutoring at the university, and doing research. Extra curricular activities are very important and without it, you have no chance of being accepted. Good luck!

I did a summer research in biochemistry at my undergrad school. I completed over 400 hours of hospital volunteering over 2 years through the Clinical Care Extender program in South California. I also tutored for general biology, general chemistry and anatomy at my undergrad school for more than a year. I shadowed few doctors at their clinic for a total of 100 hours. I did other stuff but can't remember all. However, the things i listed are the main ones. Are you planning to pursue medicine or pharmacy?
