Notice: Student Health Plan Coverage Changes Effective January 1, 2017
To: All SACM scholarship students and dependents
Subject: 2017 Benefits Changes
You were previously notified that the Saudi Arabian Department of Education represented by SACM had made some changes to your student health plan benefits for 2017. The benefit administrator will continue to be UnitedHealthcare (UHC). The changes listed below went into effect January 1, 2017:
1. Physiotherapy benefits are being reduced from 60 visits per year to 12 visits per year to match what most US Colleges and University insurance plans offer.
2. Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is being reduced from 6 cycles per lifetime to 3 cycles per lifetime. Members will be able to move onto Advanced Reproductive Technology such as IVF after the 3 cycles of IUI are exhausted.
3. Applied Behavioral Analysis will be excluded from the policy unless a written exception is approved by SACM to UHC.
In addition to the changes listed above, the following change also went into effect January 1, 2017, but was not included in the previous email sent out on December 28, 2016:
1. Vision benefits have been changed to cover lenses and glass frames once every two (2) years with a flat $200 cap (this two-year period includes the 2016 plan year) unless a written exception is approved by SACM to UHC.
Please ensure you have created your My Account at www.uhcsr.com/myaccount to access details on benefits, network providers, as well as download your electronic ID card if you did not receive one in the mail.
