As you prepare to resume your studies with us for fall 2015, we wanted to inform you that the Student Exchange Visitor Program's system, known as SEVIS, will be down during an upcoming U.S. government system update scheduled for June 26th - 28th. This update will make significant changes to improve SEVIS data accuracy, including a revised I-20 form.
Summer 2015 Travel: If you plan to enter the United States during the time of the outage (June 26th -28th), it is possible to experience longer than normal delays if you are asked to go to secondary inspection. Carry all admissibility documents with you. These documents include:
Your issued I-20 with valid travel signature on page#3
Your valid F-1 visa (if applicable)
Your valid passport, with an expiration date at least 6 months into the future
Your class schedule or enrollment verification certificate
**If you have not yet scheduled travel dates, we would recommend avoiding entering the United States during these dates if possible.
