Hello All ... DUBAIIIIIII
Who would have thought that the place that I used to transit at going to Singapore and Indonesia where I lived ( 20 years ago) was going to be my new home,
okay starting from the airport.. It is considered one of the biggest hubs in the world nowadays. In fact, last year it was the busiest airport all over the world with almost 70 Million passengers !
Dubai Marina and JBR area is the place with the most skyscrapers in one neighbourhood.. here you will find a Marina obviously , an open beach, and lots of cafes. Very classy area where most European Expats are living.
Burj Khalifa Tallest Building in the World) and the Dubai Mall are the no.1 tourist destination in Dubai.
The Dancing fountain is a must see and you won't get bored of it . It has a show every 30 mins starting at 6pm until 11pm.
Dubai Mall also has a waterfall, a real dinosaur skeleton and a big aquarium inside !!
Mall of Emirates, Ibn Battuta Mall, and Mirdif City Center are the next malls to see.
There is a chinese mall called Dragon Mart which some people like to go to but its a big NO to me.
Every November to April .. the Global Village is open. Last year it had 7 million visitors. It offers shows, shops, restaurants, and rides. Around 70 countries present their goods in pavilions.
Burj Al Arab, the most famous hotel is too expensive by all means.. Even I have never been inside.. they have a seafood restaurant with a minimum charge of 2000 Dhs ( 4000 LE ). Better is just to take pics from outside its gates.
Atlantis Hotel ..which is only in Dubai and Bahamas is a better option to look at and wonder inside if you want.
If you want to see the Palm Jumeirah.. dont worry, you can't except from up in the air..
Dubai metro almost goes everywhere.. Taxis are very expensive.
Dubai Shopping Festival is something that I don't really enjoy as i feel prices are not that cheap as opposed to other times. The collection itself available is not that good. Flights incoming to Dubai at that time are very cheap but at the same time very expensive returning home.
Overall, for a person that has never been here.. You will be completely amazed by everything from cleanliness, to roads, to sightseeing, desert trips, beach, nightclubs, basically..whatever you want you get..
My apologies if i didn't cover everything in one post but that's impossible, please feel free to contact me if you need any kind of information.
